The math behind it
Area = length × width 1 square foot = 0.09290304 square meters
A worked example
A room 10 feet long and 12 feet wide has an area of 120 square feet, or approximately 11.1484 square meters.

Length and width must be positive. Both use the selected unit; changing the unit reinterprets your entered numbers. Results show up to 4 decimal places. This estimates flat rectangular area and does not include material waste, cuts, packaging, or uneven surfaces. Confirm actual measurements and supplier coverage before ordering materials.
A common question
How do I enter feet and inches?
Convert to one unit first. For example, 10 feet 6 inches is 10.5 feet or 126 inches. Use the same unit for both dimensions.
