How to use this calculator
Enter start and end dates in chronological order. Choose which endpoint dates count, select your working weekdays, and optionally list holidays as one YYYY-MM-DD date per line. The default excludes the start date and includes the end date.
The math behind it
Count selected weekdays in the chosen date interval Subtract each distinct entered holiday that falls on a working day within the interval
A worked example
Monday January 6 to Friday January 10, 2025 gives 4 working days with the start excluded. Include both endpoints for 5. Excluding Wednesday January 8 as a holiday reduces the inclusive count to 4.
Assumptions & precision
Gregorian dates 0001–9999, with end on or after start. Default workweek is Monday–Friday, editable for other schedules. No weekdays selected produces zero. Same-day intervals count only when both endpoints are included and that date is a non-holiday working day. Up to 1,000 entered holiday lines; duplicates are excluded once and holidays on non-working days do not reduce the count. Enter observed holiday dates yourself. No country holiday calendar, half days, business-day offset mode or time-zone adjustments.
A common question
Can I use a Sunday–Thursday workweek?
Yes. Select Sunday through Thursday and clear Friday and Saturday. Holidays are still excluded only when you enter their dates.
