How to use this calculator
Enter normal damage per hit, attacks per second, critical chance and the total critical damage multiplier. Use 0% critical chance for ordinary DPS.
The math behind it
Average hit = damage × (1 + chance ÷ 100 × (multiplier − 1)) DPS = average hit × attacks per second
A worked example
100 damage, 2 attacks per second, 25% critical chance and a 2× multiplier produce 125 average damage per hit and 250 DPS.
Assumptions & precision
Independent critical events and continuous attacks. Excludes reloads, cooldowns, misses, armor, resistance, buffs and damage over time. Chance is 0%–100%; multiplier is at least 1; damage and attack rate may be zero. Unrounded intermediate values; results display up to 6 decimal places. Magnitudes above 10¹⁵ are rejected.
A common question
Does this predict damage in a short fight?
It gives the long-run expected rate. Actual short fights vary with critical-hit luck, timing and game mechanics.
