How to use this calculator
Enter the amount you want to tip on, choose a percentage, and enter the number of people sharing the bill. Currency changes the display only; it does not convert amounts.
The math behind it
Tip = bill × (tip percent ÷ 100) Total = bill + tip Per person = total ÷ number of people
A worked example
For a $100 bill with a 15% tip, the tip is $15 and the total is $115. Split between two people, each pays $57.50.
Assumptions & precision
The entered bill is the tip base. Include or exclude tax in that amount according to your preference; tax is not calculated separately. Bill and tip rate must be nonnegative; people must be a positive whole number. Calculations are not rounded internally. Display uses the selected currency's normal precision; equal displayed shares may differ from the total by a minor currency unit. Adjust the final payment if needed.

Does changing the currency convert my bill?
No. Currency is a formatting preference. The calculation uses exactly the amount you enter, without exchange rates.
