How to use this calculator
Enter the grade-point value and credits for every course included in your GPA. Use the grade points assigned by your institution, from 0 to 4. Add courses as needed. An F is normally entered as 0 points with its credits; omit courses your institution excludes from GPA.
The math behind it
Quality points = grade points × course credits GPA = total quality points ÷ total included credits
A worked example
A 3-credit course worth 4.0 points and a 3-credit course worth 3.0 points give (4 × 3 + 3 × 3) ÷ 6 = 3.5 GPA.
Assumptions & precision
Unweighted 4.0 grade-point scale, weighted by credits. No automatic letter-to-point conversion: institutions differ. Points must be from 0 to 4; credits may be fractional, from 0 to 1,000 per course, with positive total credits. Zero-credit courses contribute nothing. Up to 100 courses. Retake replacement, pass/fail exclusions, honors bonuses and institutional rounding are not inferred. GPA displays up to 3 decimals, with no intermediate rounding.

Does this calculate my official GPA?
It calculates the credit-weighted average of the courses you enter. Your institution decides which attempts and courses count, how letters convert to points, and how the final GPA is rounded. Use those rules when entering your courses.
